Golden Jubilee Celebration – "Doux Commerce"

The Post Graduate Department of Commerce at Sree Krishna College, Guruvayur, successfully hosted the Golden Jubilee Celebration “Doux Commerce”, on 28th February 2025 at the College Mini Auditorium. The event marked 50 years of excellence in commerce education, celebrating the department’s legacy, faculty contributions, and accomplished alumni.

The program commenced at 10:00 AM with a prayer, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Jisha S. Kumar, Head of the Department of Commerce. Dr. Vijoy P.S., Principal of Sree Krishna College, Guruvayur, delivered the presidential address, setting the tone for the day’s proceedings.

The event was formally inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by Dr. V.K. Vijayan, Chairman of the Guruvayur Devaswom Managing Committee, who also delivered the inaugural speech. A highlight of the program was the felicitation of retired faculty members who played a pivotal role in shaping the department over the decades. Prof. Ramadasan P, Prof. Ravindranath K., and Dr. P.A. Damodaran were honoured for their invaluable contributions, with Dr. V.K. Vijayan presenting them with tokens of appreciation.

Another significant moment was the honouring of the first B.Com batch (1974-1977), in recognition of their achievements and lifelong association with the department. The honor was bestowed by Dr. Vijoy P.S., Principal of Sree Krishna College, alongside retired faculty members and student representatives from the 1974 alumni batch.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Dhanya K.S., Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator. After a lunch break, the celebration continued with cultural programs, bringing together faculty, alumni, and students in a joyous and nostalgic atmosphere. The Golden Jubilee Celebration was a remarkable tribute to the legacy of the department, celebrating the past while envisioning a promising future for the commerce community.
