General Code of Conduct
- Be clean and decorous in your dress
- In your speech and behaviour, be guided by your sense of order and self-respect.
- Ask permission before you enter or leave the class, while class is going on
- When a teacher or visitor enters your class raise from your seat and remain standing until he takes his seat or asks you to take your seat.
- Utilise free hours with the facilities of the library, the common room etc, without disturbing the class work.
- Help to keep the furniture and other equipment in the college neat and in the most serviceable condition. Do not disfigure college walls or furniture with any writing or engraving. According to the case, any loss or destruction to college properties will be chargeable individually or collectively.
- Perfect silence should be maintained in the Reading Room and Library.
- Representations on college affairs to the higher authorities shall be made only through the principal and to the Principal through the Head of the Department.
- Except at the meetings of the College Association do not hold or address any gathering within the College premises without the Principal’s permission.
- No new association shall be formed in the college without the Principal’s permission.
- Do not participate in activities that oppose the constituted authority and provoke communal feeling.
- In case of doubts and difficulties or for redressal of grievances, consult your class teacher or Head of the Dept. or the Principal.
- All students are expected to conduct themselves in a way that maintains the college's reputation.
- Students should always keep their Identity Cards with them until their course of study is completed and surrender the same when they receive their transfer certificates.
- A student should show his/her identity card to the college Principal or staff for verification as and when required.
- Students will be fined collectively or individually if college property is damaged.
- Students are not allowed to sit in the waiting room or wander around the college grounds during class hours.
- Students are not allowed to use Mobile Phones, Camera, and Video cameras inside the college campus.
- Students are not allowed to use two-wheelers inside the college campus. They must be parked in the provided parking space.
- No permanent posters, Placards or flags will be allowed on the campus.
- The use of Mobile phones is strictly prohibited inside the classrooms.
Attendance and Leave of Absence
- The working day is divided into two sessions, each lasting one hour.
- Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each hour by the respective members of the staff.
- Students should occupy their respective seats before attendance is taken.
- For the purpose of attendance, all working days shall be counted as full days irrespective of the number of working hours. The days that will be taken into account are those marked as working days in the College Calendar notified by the Principal (Special classes will not be counted for extra attendance)
- No student shall abstain from a class without leave.
- Absence without leave for any hour or part thereof will be counted as an absence for the respective session. Absence without leave for one session shall be considered an absence for the whole day. If leave is required for the afternoon session only, the student should appear in person before the teacher is concerned and get the application for leave recommended by him.
- Application for leave should be made in the prescribed form to the Principal through the recommending authority by the student beforehand. In the case of unforeseen circumstances, the application for leave must be submitted on the first day the student returns to the college. Medical certificates should invariably be attached to leave applications on medical grounds exceeding five days.
- Students absent without leave for more than 10 working days will have their names removed from the rolls. They shall pay the re-admission fee and all college fees due, if any, before they are readmitted.
- Students are warned that they should get 75 percent of the attendance of the year. If they fall short of the minimum, the deficiency will be condoned only when the syndicate is satisfied that the absence was for reasons beyond the student's control. Deficiency exceeding 24 days will, on no account, be condoned. Condonation will not be granted for more than one academic year for any course of study.
- Disciplinary action will be taken against those who repeatedly absent themselves on insufficient grounds.
- Annual attendance certificates shall not be granted unless the student has obtained three-fourths of the attendance prescribed by the college for the course of instruction to the satisfaction of the authorities and his/her progress and conduct have been satisfactory.
- The student who does not pay the fees will have his name removed from the rolls and will not be eligible for attendance for the defaulted period.
