The students of Sree Krishna College, Guruvayur have obtained various scholarships over the years. They include:
1) Scholarship for Differently Abled Students:
The scholarship is being provided by Social Justice Department, Government of Kerala, to disabled students studying in schools and colleges attending professional, UG, PG courses and technical trainings. The annual family income of the students should be below Rs.36,000/- and they should obtain 40% marks in the examination in the previous year.
2) Central Sector Scholarship Scheme:
This is a centrally-funded merit-cum-means scholarship initiated by the Department of Higher Education of MHRD. The objective is to financially assist students of economically underprivileged families. This scheme disburses scholarships up to Rs. 82,000 to graduate/postgraduate students every year.
3) Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC students:
The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to the OBC students studying at post-matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education. An amount of Rs. 33,500/- per annum is awarded by the Government of State to their permanently settled students pursuing general courses.
4) Research Award (Aspire Scholarship)
The Higher Education Department, Government of Kerala, has introduced a scholarship scheme ‘ASPIRE’ also called Research Award, to enable regular PG/M.Phil/Ph.D students for doing short term internship/projects in institutions other than their parent colleges/university departments. The scholarship is for a minimum period of one month up to a maximum of four months. The monthly scholarship amount is Rs. 8000/- for projects undertaken within the state and Rs. 10,000/- outside the State.
5) Sanskrit Scholarship
The Central Sanskrit University, Delhi implements various Central Government Schemes for the enrichment and dissemination of Sanskrit language and literature. Accordingly, The Govt. of India awards scholarships through University to meritorious students of Sanskrit related to constituent campuses and other institutions throughout the country. The University also awards a merit scholarship on All India Basis to regular students pursuing higher course of studies in Sanskrit including Pali/Prakrit in any recognized traditional Pathashalas from Purvamadhyama to Uttarmadhyama/Prak-Shastri and the level of Shastri/Acharya/Vidya-Varidhi and Modern institutions from Secondary/Senior Secondary Schools (from 9th to 12th standard) and the levels of Graduation/Post Graduation/Ph.D. The selected students will receive financial assistance of Rs. 2,500/- per month.
6) State Merit Scholarship
The State Merit Scholarship Kerala (SMS), administered by the Department of Collegiate Education, grants scholarships of up to Rs. 1,250 and Rs. 1,500 to students pursuing their higher studies at UG and PG levels respectively. Since its inception, the scholarship programme has strived to provide monetary aid to students from underprivileged backgrounds, helping them cover their basic education expenses. This merit-based programme aims to enhance employability and decrease unemployment rates by addressing the issue of poverty and financial difficulties faced by students.
7) Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship
The Department of Collegiate Education, State of Kerala, administers this scholarship. Students belonging to BPL families who have gained admission to the first year of undergraduate or postgraduate courses at any government or government-aided university or college can apply for this scholarship. They must pass their previous examination with at least 50% marks. Also, the students must be permanent residents of the state of Kerala. A financial benefit of Rs. 10,000/- per year is granted.
8) Higher Education Scholarship
First year students pursuing their degree in Science, Humanities, Business Studies in Government or Aided Arts and Science Colleges are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The students must be Indian citizens. The scholarship amount is Rs. 12,000/-, Rs. 18,000/- and Rs. 24,000/- respectively for the first, second and third year UG course.
9) Snehapoorvam Scholarship
This scholarship was launched under the Kerala Social Security Mission. This scholarship is monitored by the Social Justice Department. Orphan students, students who lost their father, mother, or both, students belonging to BPL categories are eligible for this scholarship. For Degree and Professional Course students, an amount of Rs. 1000/- per month is provided.
