Dr. Smitha K R has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at Sree Krishna College, Guruvayur, since 2015. She earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Calicut, with her research conducted at the Amala Cancer Research Centre. Her research interests focus on Cancer Biology and Phytochemistry, where she has made significant contributions. She has published several books and numerous papers in reputed international and national journals, significantly advancing the fields of science. Her work has been presented at various national and international conferences. Additionally, she successfully cleared the UGC-NET for Life Sciences and GATE, demonstrating her proficiency in the discipline.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Smitha has held various teaching positions, including guest lectureships at St. Mary’s College, Thrissur, Sree Krishna College, Guruvayur and Sree Sankara College, Kalady. She actively participates in faculty development programs and workshops to enhance her teaching methodologies and research skills. She served as a member of the Undergraduate Board of Studies in Biochemistry at the University of Calicut. Dr. Smitha is a life member of esteemed professional bodies such as the Indian Association for Cancer Research (IACR) and the Society for Biotechnologists (India).
