Dr Ambili K, the HOD of the Department, began her career, after completing her studies in John Mathai Centre, Department of Economics, University of Calicut, as Junior Research Fellow at the Centre for Water Resource and Management (CWRDM) Neyyattinkara sub Centre. The work involved were collecting and documenting the indigenous technology management of water preservation and conservation, participatory irrigation management projects.
Having worked there for two years she joined The Kerala Institute for Research Training and Development Studies of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Base line Survey of six primitive Tribes of Kerala, revamping tribal co _operative societies,
identifying the caste system among Tribes in Wayanad).
Her career as a teacher began when she joined National Institute of Technology, Calicut.There, she taught Industrial Economics, Quantitative Analysis of Economics and Principles of Economics for all Engineering students except the Architecture students.From there she moved to the prestigious BITS, Pilani KKBirla Goa Campus. She taught Fundamentals of Economics and Finance Micro and Macro, Project Analysis.Started a new course Regional Economics 2008-12.She also started incubator for Start ups . Coming back from BITS Pilani she joined John Mathai Centre as Assistant Professor on contract basis. Took classes for MA and MPhil students.Submitted and got sanction for a proposal to start Financial Economics MA Program at JMC.
She joined Sreekrishna College on 7 August 2013. She has been working as H O D Economics since 2015.
Awards and Honours: In 2016 she was given FLAIR International Internship Award by University of Derby, UK. Presented 21 papers at National and International venues. Attended 27 Conferences and chaired sessions. Visited countries like the USA, Indonesia and UAE for paper presentation. Worked at the University of UmmAl Quwain from 2017-19 and University of Fujairah from 2019- 22.
Collaboration: Abudhabi, School of Management (Project Collaboration).Swiss Business School (Visiting Professor till 2022). Visiting Professor at Kerala Agricultural University, Mannuthy from 2014 to 2016.Has been Question Paper Setter till now. PhD supervisor at Swiss Business School from 2018 to21.
