Carbon-Neutral Manalur Project Launched at Sree Krishna College, Guruvayur

Sree Krishna College, Guruvayur marked a significant milestone in its commitment to environmental sustainability with the launch of the first phase of the Carbon-Neutral Manalur Project, a model sustainable development initiative being implemented in the Manalur Assembly Constituency.

The programme commenced with the inauguration of the Sree Krishna College Mango Grove Project by Sri A. V. Gopinath, Chairman, Guruvayur Devaswom, who ceremonially planted the first mango sapling on the college campus.

As part of the initiative, 35 varieties of mango saplings, provided by the Kerala Agricultural University, will be planted and nurtured within the campus. The project aims to enhance biodiversity, promote environmental conservation, and contribute to long-term carbon sequestration, reinforcing the institution's commitment to sustainable campus development.

Following the plantation drive, a seminar on environmental sustainability and carbon neutrality was held in the college auditorium. The seminar was inaugurated by Prof. C. Ravindranath, MLA, who emphasized the importance of collective efforts in addressing climate change and promoting sustainable practices.

The Carbon-Neutral Manalur Project reflects the shared vision of academic institutions, public representatives, and the community in fostering a greener and more sustainable future.
