- Tourism Club
The Government of Kerala, with the aim of boosting tourism and increasing visitor numbers across the state, has implemented a program encouraging schools and colleges to form tourism clubs within their institutions. These clubs are designed to foster a greater appreciation of Kerala's rich cultural diversity and tourism potential among young people. As per the government's plan, each tourism club must appoint a teacher coordinator to oversee its operations and activities, a student secretary to lead the club, and include a group of students with a passion for travel who form the membership of the club.
In alignment with this initiative, Sree Krishna College, Guruvayur, launched its tourism club in 2024. Dr.Abhilash S has been appointed as the staff coordinator to guide the club's activities and ensure smooth functioning. The tourism club at Sree Krishna College has set forth its mission to promote tourism by educating students on the sustainable use of Kerala's natural and cultural heritage. It aims to offer students hands-on experiences in exploring the beautiful and diverse landscapes of the state. Through various activities, such as conferences, workshops, and trips, the club seeks to nurture a deep interest in tourism among students, while inspiring them to be responsible and environmentally conscious travellers within their communities.
