The Department of Malayalam at Sree Krishna College, Guruvayur, organized a one-day webinar on June 19, 2020, in connection with Readers Day, celebrating the importance of reading and writing in contemporary times. Renowned poet Sri Madhusoodanan Nair and Dr. Rajesh Monji, Assistant Professor at MES College Mambad, were the key speakers, delivering insightful talks on the theme "Read and Write" through the Google Meet platform. Their discussions focused on the significance of literature in shaping thoughts and the role of reading in nurturing creativity, especially in challenging times. The webinar saw active participation from students and faculty members, who engaged in thought-provoking discussions on contemporary literary trends.

In addition to the webinar, three all-Kerala writing competitions—poetry, short story, and essay—were held on the theme of the Covid-19 scenario. These competitions attracted entries from college students across Kerala, providing a platform for them to express their thoughts and experiences during the pandemic. The event successfully promoted a culture of reading and writing among students, helping them explore new perspectives through literature. The program concluded with a sense of fulfillment, as participants were inspired by the rich discussions and creative expressions.
