On 5th July 2021, the Department of Malayalam organized *Basheer Anusmaranam*, a commemoration event to honor the legendary writer Vaikom Muhammad Basheer. Dr. Abdul Nazar M C, Associate Professor of Malayalam at SSUS Kalady, delivered the keynote address, offering profound insights into Basheer's literary contributions and his enduring influence on Malayalam literature. The event was coordinated by Dr. Reena A M, who ensured the smooth execution of the program. Both students and faculty members participated actively, engaging in meaningful discussions about Basheer’s works and his unique narrative style. The event served as a heartfelt tribute to one of Malayalam literature’s most iconic figures, reflecting the department’s dedication to celebrating literary legacies.
