On February 21, 2020, a seminar titled "Matrubhashayum Prayogangalum" was held at Kummini Hall. The session was led by Dr. Jalsa M, Assistant Professor of Malayalam , Sree Vivekananda College, Kunnamkulam. The seminar was attended by 48 students and focused on the importance and practical applications of one's mother tongue, particularly Malayalam.
Dr. Jalsa M emphasized the cultural significance of the mother tongue and its role in shaping individual identity. She discussed how language is more than a communication tool; it is a carrier of traditions, values, and history. The resource person also highlighted the current challenges faced by regional languages in an increasingly globalized world. Various applications of Malayalam in different fields, including literature, media, and education, were discussed, encouraging students to take pride in their mother tongue and actively use it in both academic and personal contexts.
The seminar was interactive, with students engaging in discussions and raising questions about the role of Malayalam in modern society.
