The B.Sc. Biochemistry course was established in 1998-99 as a self-financing program. Initially, the course had an intake of 20 students in its first batch. The course was regularized in 2013. Over the years, a total of 23 batches have successfully completed the undergraduate program. The department has consistently achieved top ranks in University examinations and has produced a significant number of students who have qualified for competitive exams like UGC-JRF and GATE in their higher studies. Many graduates have also pursued higher studies abroad and secured placements in prestigious institutions. The department boasts a well-equipped laboratory and a rich library with a collection of over 750 scholastic books. Students have the opportunity to undertake degree projects and internships in research institutions and laboratories, gaining valuable practical experience. The department has a strong reputation for producing successful alumni who have achieved remarkable heights in their careers.
