The Department of Biochemistry at Sree Krishna College, Guruvayur, successfully organized Nutrifiesta 2k25 on January 23, 2025, in the college mini auditorium. The event aimed to raise awareness about nutrition, promote healthy eating, and encourage culinary creativity through an exciting lineup of activities. The day began with a formal inauguration at 11:00 am, where Dr. Umadevi D, Head of the Department of Biochemistry, welcomed the attendees. Captain Rajesh Madhavan of the Department of Physical Education officially inaugurated the event, and Dr. Sudha and Mr. Akhil Thomas, CEO of Testle App, offered insightful words of encouragement.
Following the inauguration, the Food Fest showcased a variety of traditional and healthy food items prepared by students, attracting visitors to explore nutrient-rich dishes. In the Nutiquest Junior quiz competition for school students, held at 11:00 am in the third-year biochemistry classroom, 11 students from various schools participated. The quiz competition, conducted by second-year B.Sc. Biochemistry students, tested the participants' knowledge on nutrition, food science, and general science. At 1:00 pm, Mr. Akhil Thomas and the manager of Testle App presented prizes to the winners.
The Bake Off cake competition began at 1:30 pm, with participation from students of various colleges. A total of 3 teams presented cakes that were judged based on their presentation, taste, and nutritional value. The Nutriquest Senior quiz competition for college students started at 2:30 pm, with 14 teams engaging in an intellectually stimulating contest. Finally, the Nutribite recipe competition encouraged participants to prepare innovative, healthy, and traditional dishes, emphasizing nutritional benefits.
The event concluded with a Valedictory Function at 4:30 pm, where winners of the various competitions were announced and awarded prizes. The successful event attracted enthusiastic participation and engagement from school and college students, making it a memorable day focused on nutrition, health, and creativity.
