The Department of Biochemistry & Nutrition of Sree Krishna College, Guruvayur, successfully organized a juice fest titled “Pulp Rush – Juice Fest 2026” on 17th March 2026 within the college campus. The program was conducted as part of a hydration awareness initiative, aiming to educate students and the public about the importance of maintaining proper hydration, especially during the summer season.

Summer in regions like Guruvayur is often associated with high temperatures and humidity, which can lead to excessive sweating and loss of body fluids. This increases the risk of dehydration, fatigue, heat exhaustion, and other health issues. Therefore, adequate intake of fluids, particularly natural and nutrient-rich drinks, is essential to maintain body temperature, electrolyte balance, and overall health. The juice fest was designed to highlight the role of fresh, natural beverages in preventing dehydration and promoting wellness.

The event featured a variety of refreshing and healthy drinks prepared by the students. The main products sold included Mango Passion Juice, a tropical blend rich in vitamins and antioxidants; Mohabath Ka Sarbath, a popular sweet and cooling drink; Sambaram (spiced buttermilk), known for its digestive and cooling properties; Sago Custard Juice, which provides energy and hydration; and Fruit Jelly, a colorful and appealing dessert-based drink loved by students.

In addition to the sale of beverages, the fest included nutrition awareness stalls and demonstrations focusing on the benefits of natural drinks over sugary, carbonated beverages. The students actively engaged with participants, explaining the health benefits of each drink and encouraging healthier lifestyle choices.

The program was conducted from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff. It was both an educational and enjoyable experience, successfully combining knowledge with practical application.
